PRODUCT DETAILS:

2009 U.S. Mint Coin Set

SET HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Contains 2 different sealed blister packs with 18 coins each. 1 from the Denver Mint and 1 from the Philadelphia Mint for a total of 36 coins!
  • From the Philadelphia Mint: Six Territorial Quarters (listed below), 4 different Lincoln Cent designs, Nickel, Dime, Half Dollar, Native American Dollar and 4 Presidential Dollars (listed below).
  • From the Denver Mint: Six Territorial Quarters (listed below), 4 different Lincoln Cent designs, Nickel, Dime, Half Dollar, Native American Dollar and 4 Presidential Dollars (listed below).
  • Includes the "P" and "D" Mint Native American Dollars, affectionately called the "Golden Dollar" although it contains no actual Gold! 2009 was the first year the coin featured a new reverse design!
  • 2009 marked the 100 year anniversary of the Lincoln Cent, and to celebrate, the mint released four new reverse designs showing Abraham Lincoln throughout his life. A "P" and "D" mint example is included of all four new designs!
  • Mintage of just 784,614 total sets!

Although 2008 would mark the end of the State Quarter program, in 2009, the U.S. Mint issued a quarter for every one of its 6 territories!

The Territorial Quarters released in 2009 were:

  • Washington D.C.
  • Puerto Rico
  • Guam
  • American Samoa
  • United States Virgin Islands
  • Northern Mariana Islands

2007 also marked the beginning of the Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005. This piece of legislature stated that The United States Mint would strike a legal tender Dollar coin bearing the portrait of every President (four Presidents per year) beginning with our Nation's first President, George Washington! This program made its way up to President Ronald Reagan in 2016, the final President eligible at the time (the President must be deceased for him to be eligible).

The Presidential Dollars released in 2009 were:

  • William Henry Harrison
  • John Tyler
  • Zachary Taylor
  • James K. Polk
