PRODUCT DETAILS:

2017 Frederick Douglass Quarter Coin - P or D Mint - (UNC) Brilliant Uncirculated

COIN HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Released on 4/3/2017.
  • The obverse shows a slightly modified version of the original Washington Quarter. The mint moved some of the wording previously found on the reverse to the obverse in order to make more room for the reverse design for each state. You'll find "United States of America," "In God We Trust," "Liberty," and "Quarter Dollar" all spelled out on the obverse of the quarter as well as the coin's mint mark.
  • The reverse features Frederick Douglass, sitting at a desk writing. His home, Cedar Hill, located in Washington D.C. is shown in the background.
  • The 5 National Parks Released in 2017 were Effigy Mounds National Monument in Iowa, Frederick Douglass National Historic Site in Washington D.C., Ozark National Scenic Riverways in Missouri, Ellis Island (Statue of Liberty National Monument) in New Jersey and George Rogers Clark National Historical Park in Indiana.
  • Sovereign coin minted at the U.S. Mint and backed by the United States government with a face value of $0.25.

Select either 'P' - Philadelphia Mint, or 'D' - Denver Mint from the drop-down options menu located above.

  • This has to be my favorite out of the whole National Park Quarters because it's celebrating a human being. The parks are good, but having someone who has made a difference in this world today is ongoing for generations and generations to learn about. A textbook is not always a tool for learning a quarter like Frederick Douglas that's in your pocket or change jar can spark interest. Purchase 4 of these as well 2(P) and 2(D).
  • Always excellent. My only source for these quarters, P, D, S.
  • Nice!
