PRODUCT DETAILS:

2015 Saratoga Quarter Coin - S Mint - (UNC) Brilliant Uncirculated

COIN HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Released on 11/16/2015.
  • The obverse shows a slightly modified version of the original Washington Quarter. The mint moved some of the wording previously found on the reverse to the obverse in order to make more room for the reverse design for each state. You'll find "United States of America," "In God We Trust," "Liberty," and "Quarter Dollar" all spelled out on the obverse of the quarter as well as the coin's mint mark.
  • The reverse of the coin depicts a closeup image of the moment British General John Burgoyne surrendered his sword to American General Horatio Gates.
  • The 5 National Parks Released in 2015 were Homestead National Monument of America in Nebraska, Kisatchie National Park in Louisiana, Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina, Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Delaware, and Saratoga National Historical Park in New York.
  • Sovereign coins minted at the San Francisco Branch of the U.S. Mint and backed by the United States government, each with a face value of $0.25. The America the Beautiful Quarter Program began in 2010, but Uncirculated Quarters were not minted at San Francisco until 2012.

The 3,392 acre Saratoga National Historical Park preserves the site of the Battles of Saratoga. In 1777, battles between the American and British armies led to the first significant American victory of the American Revolutionary War. With the British defeated, France came to America’s aid as an ally, and eventually the Dutch and the Spanish followed suit.

Saratoga, initially considered a historic preserve, entered into the National Park System in 1938. The park offers an educational visitor center, the Battlefields, General Phillip Schuylers’s House, Saratoga Monument and Victory Woods. Visitors can take professionally guided or self guided tours throughout the park.

All coins come in protective plastic. Orders of 40 or more may ship in tubes.
