The Kennedy Half Dollar Anniversary Set commemorates the 50th anniversary of the release of the Kennedy Half Dollar in 1964. With over 70,000 sets sold in just two days, these are sure to be very popular.
The two Kennedy Half Dollars are encapsulated in a coin card and inserted into a special coin folder, which is sure to protect the coins for years to come! Both the obverse and the reverse of the coins are visible - they do not need to be taken out of their protective packaging to be seen. A Certificate of Authenticity and the coin design descriptions are included in the folder.
The obverse bears the same portrait of John F. Kennedy that was used on the 1964 Half Dollar issues created shortly after his assassination. The reverse design includes the presidential seal with a ring of 50 stars encircling it. The 2014 Uncirculated Kennedy Half Dollar displays more stars on its reverse than any other coin ever produced for circulation by the U.S. Mint.
