1981 U.S. Proof Coin Set (Type 2 Dollar) - 6/6 Type 2 Coins

SET HIGHLIGHTS:

• U.S. Mint Proof Coin Set housed in its original plastic holder, with mint issued box!
• Features a proof example of a 1981 Susan B. Anthony Dollar, Kennedy Half Dollar, Washington Quarter, Roosevelt Dime, Jefferson Nickel and Lincoln Cent.
  
• This set contains the rare Type 2 Susan B. Anthony Dollar as well as 5 other Type 2 examples for a total of 6 out of 6 Type 2 coins.  These sets, along with the 5 coin Type 2 set, is extremely scarce and command larger premiums than just the Type 2 dollar. 
• All coins were struck at the San Francisco Mint. 
  

It can be quite difficult to distinguish between the two types. It should first be learned that the overall clarity of the "S" is not the deciding factor, but rather the shape of the "S". The mint mark should have bulbous ends with well rounded center loops

Proof coins are coins that are struck just for collectors. The U.S. Mint uses specially prepared planchets (blanks) and dies. The coins are struck at least twice to give them optimum detail! Please note that more often than not the coins in these sets featuring Type 2 Dollars have cloudy surfaces.
