COIN HIGHLIGHTS:

• Dated 1917.  Popular 2 Feathers Variety caused by polishing of the die to remove clash marks or some other flaws.  The result was the eradication of the bottom third headdress feather. 
• Struck in Philadelphia.

Buffalo Nickels have enjoyed intense interest from coin collectors for over 50 years. 1913 was their first year of issue, and two distinct varieties were minted. The type 1 has the buffalo standing on a raised mound, while the type 2 has the buffalo on a more naturally flat, or plain ground.
