2000 South Carolina State Quarter Coin - P or D Mint - (UNC) Brilliant Uncirculated 

COIN HIGHLIGHTS:

• Released on 5/22/2000.
• The obverse shows a slightly modified version of the original Washington Quarter. The mint moved some of the wording previously found on the reverse to the obverse in order to make more room for the reverse design for each state. You'll find "United States of America," "In God We Trust," "Liberty," and "Quarter Dollar" all spelled out on the obverse of the quarter as well as the coin's mint mark. 
• The reverse features several of the states symbols including: a Palmetto Tree (state tree), the Carolina Wren (state bird), and the Yellow Jessamine (state flower) as well as an outline of the state, and the inscription "The Palmetto State." There is also a star on the state to highlight the location of the state's capital, Columbia.
• The South Carolina State Quarter was released in 2000 along with the Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Virginia State Quarters.  
• Sovereign coin minted at the U.S. Mint and backed by the United States government with a face value of $0.25.
