Looking to stack some silver that has some nostalgia and Americana attached to it? Then look no further! The Icons of Route 66 Silver Shields Series will take you on a trip through 8 states from Illinois to California. Whether you've traveled along Rt. 66 yourself, or have just heard stories and watched television shows, they're sure to add some history and American culture to your collection!
This Jack Rabbit Trading Post release is the 7th in a series of 8. The last and final release will be that of the state of California, the last one on the route. Previous releases represented iconic stops along the famous highway, known as Main Street of America and included the Gemini Giant (Illinois), the Gateway Arch (Missouri), the Rainbow Arch Bridge (Kansas), the Round Barn (Oklahoma), Cadillac Rance (Texas), and the Dinosaur Museum (New Mexico).
Once you've had your share of dinosaurs at the museum in New Mexico, you'll continue down Route 66 and start seeing signs with a rabbit silhouette and mileage. Follow those signs and you'll arrive at the famous Jack Rabbit Trading Post with the last sign reading "HERE IT IS." Â Inside this convenience store and curio shop, you'll find novelty items and souvenirs including many Jack Rabbit themed keepsakes. Be sure to snap a photo with the rabbit silhouette on the side of the building and then hop on the enormous Jack Rabbit statue located in front of the building for another photo op. The shop opened its doors in 1949 and celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2019. It has been managed by the same owners since 1995 who not only keep the shop running but also maintain the historic (and original) signs along the way. Do some shopping and we'll see you at the next stop in California!
