This commemorative coin designed by Isaac Scott Hathaway depicts busts of both George Washington Carver and Booker T. Washington on the obverse. George Washington Carver was an agricultural chemist who worked to improve economic growth in the south. Booker T. Washington was principal of Tuskeegee Institute, a lecturer and educator.
