These 50 Peso Gold coins were first issued in 1921 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mexico's independence from Spain and are considered to be one of the more beautiful coins ever minted. These popular coins are more than 20% larger than the one ounce U.S. Gold Eagles! The 50 Pesos Gold coin from Mexico was first struck from 1921 to 1928 and then again from 1944-47. Later, the coins were issued once more, most re-struck with the date 1947. The earlier 50 Pesos usually carry small premiums over the re-strikes, except for the 1921 and the 1931 issues which have large premiums.
When U.S. citizens regained the right to own gold bullion on December 31, 1974, Mexican 50 Pesos fast became a standard bearer of the Gold bullion industry!
Dates on these random year coins will be of our choosing and are determined by our current inventory on hand.
