The Gerber Variable Scale was invented by Heinz Joseph Gerber, an American inventor and business man. He is known to some as the "Thomas Edison" of manufacturing as he developed tools to help revolutionize and automate industrial manufacturing. He can be credited for automated drawing and digitizing, electronics fabrication, photoplotting systems, computer-aided design functionality and workstations (CAD). The scale he invented was the standard tool used by engineers throughout the 1950's. It performs calculations on curves and graphs and is used for solving problems related to proportions, interpolations, and scaling of plotted data.

The American Innovation Dollar Coin Series replaced the Presidential Dollar Coin Program and will run through 2032 allowing for one issue from each state. After all the states have been issued, coins recognizing the District of Columbia and each U.S. Territory will be issued.
