- The obverse shows a slightly modified version of the original Washington Quarter. The mint moved some of the wording previously found on the reverse to the obverse in order to make more room for the reverse design for each state. You'll find "United States of America," "In God We Trust," "Liberty," and "Quarter Dollar" all spelled out on the obverse of the quarter as well as the coin's mint mark.
- Featured on the reverse is Alley Spring Mill located in Alley Spring, MO, named after local miller John Alley.
- The 5 National Parks Released in 2017 were Effigy Mounds National Monument in Iowa, Frederick Douglass National Historic Site in Washington D.C., Ozark National Scenic Riverways in Missouri, Ellis Island (Statue of Liberty National Monument) in New Jersey and George Rogers Clark National Historical Park in Indiana.
- Sovereign coin minted at the U.S. Mint and backed by the United States government with a face value of $0.25.
The Ozark National Scenic Riverways, located in southern Missouri, is a tourist destination that offers various recreational activities including boating, camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and more. The park is situated on 80,000 acres and sees over a million visitors per year. Also in the park are natural springs (such as Hot Springs in Arkansas) and a few other historic buildings.
