President Woodrow Wilson was the 28th President of the United States. Born in December of 1856 in Virginia, he was the third of four children. He initially attended Davidson College, but transferred to Princeton University to finish his education due to medical reasons. He also attended University of Virginia to study law and received his doctorate from John Hopkins University in history and political science. Wilson held many positions within higher education institutions including Bryn Mawr College, Wesleyan University, New York Law School, and Princeton University. His political career began in 1910 as Governor of New Jersey and quickly escalated when he became President in 1912. He served two terms through 1921. While he was President, Wilson persuaded Congress to pass the Underwood Act, Federal Reserve Act, the Federal Trade Commission Act, the Clayton Antitrust Act, the Federal Farm Loan Act, the Keating-Owen Act, and the Adamson Act. He also entered into America into War World I with Germany. He was married in 1885 to Ellen Louise Axson and had three daughters. When she died in 1914, he was widowed but remarried one year later to Edith Galt. President Wilson died in 1924 while touring in support of the Versailles Treaty.
