1934 $1.00 Funny Back Silver Certificate - Fine to Very Fine Condition

NOTE HIGHLIGHTS:

• Fine to Very Fine Condition.
  
• The obverse features a portrait of George Washington. Old style reverse.
• Prior to 1928, U.S. Currency was much larger than the Small Size Currency we know and use today. The first series of these smaller notes was issued from 1928-1934, and all used the same "Funny Back" reverse design. A new design, similar to that of today's, was released in 1935.

The 1934 Series is collectible as it included a minor change to the obverse design. A numerical "1" was added to the left side of the Washington portrait, and the blue seal moved to the right, on top of the word "ONE."

Where did the name Funny Back come from? The reverse had appeared very plain and the notes resembled play money!
