Gold Certificates are throwbacks to the days when our paper money was "As Good As Gold!" Each of these notes clearly states "This Certifies That There Has Been Deposited In The Treasury Of The United States Of America - Ten Dollars In Gold Coin - Payable To The Bearer On Demand." Those were the days! Unfortunately, Gold Certificates, much like Gold Coins, were removed from circulation in 1933 as part of then President Franklin Roosevelt's banking policies.
